School of International Studies

　　外国语学院(School of International Studies)是成都文理学院下属所有二级学院中办学规模最大、办学层次最丰富的学院之一。学院除了培养英语本科及专科两个层次的专业学生，还承担了全校各专业各层次的大学外语(英、日、法、西、韩)教学任务。

　　The School of International Studies(SIS), one of the schools with the largest scale and richest educational levels of Chengdu College of Arts and Sciences (CDCAS), not only cultivates the English major students of both undergraduate and vocational levels, but also undertakes the teaching tasks of college foreign languages (English, Japanese, French, Spanish, Korean) to all majors of all levels at CDCAS.

　　学院英语专业本科为师范和翻译两个方向、专科为商务英语专业。

　　SIS offers two undergraduate programs for English majors (English education and English translation) and one vocational-level program of Business English.

　　外国语学院按照学校“两型三化”的办学定位，致力于培养本专业高素质应用型人才，即具备熟练外语运用技能、跨文化交际能力、思辨和持续学习能力、学科融合能力；并具有一定的研究能力和信息技术应用能力的外语类宽口径人才。同时，学院顺应新文科的学科发展大势，在人才培养中积极推进辅修专业和微专业，赋能学生核心竞争力，使之有更好的社会适应能力和专业发展潜势。目前学院正积极准备迎接教育部的师范认证，为专业建设和人才培养搭建更好的平台。

　　SIS, under the principle of Two Orientations (application & business creation) and Three Styles (international, individual, intelligent) of CDCAS, is committed to cultivating application-orientedand major-qualified professionals, who are proficient atforeign languageapplication, cross-cultural communication, critical thinking and life learning, and multi-disciplinary integration, and to nurturing full-fledged foreign language studentswith the abilitiesof scientific researchand information-technological application.Meanwhile, against the context of New Liberal Arts, SIS actively promotes the minor-major programs and micro-major in personnel training to enable students to master core competitiveness, so that they are socially adaptable and professionally potential. Currently, SIS is in full preparation for the educational certification of the Ministry of Education so as to establish better platforms for professional construction and talent cultivation.

　　我院毕业生就业率历年均达96%；就业走向主要为省内外各职业技术学校、中小学、翻译公司以及其他事业单位，从事教学、翻译、行政管理工作等。近年来，学院每年约有15%的应届和往届毕业生考入国内外多所高校攻读研究生，其中不乏四川大学、西南交通大学、西南财经大学、四川外国语大学、西南大学等国内知名985、211高校。同时，有不少学生通过学校提供的“本硕”、“专硕”直通车通道，进入爱丁堡、利物浦、昆士兰等世界名校升造读硕。英语专业八级通过率及考研升造率，在省内同类高校中均名列前茅。

　　SIS has seen the employment rate of the graduates at 96%over the consecutive years. Our graduates, engaged in teaching, translation,administrative work and so on, mainly work in vocational and technical schools, primary and secondary schools, translation companies and otherpublic institutions across China. The recent yearshave also witnessed that about 15% of our graduates(fresh and former) each year are admitted to manynational key universities at home and abroad, including Sichuan University, Southwest Jiaotong University, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, Sichuan International Studies University and Southwest University.At the same time, many graduates are able to pursue the master degrees at global prestigious universities like Edinburgh, Liverpool and Queensland through the programs of ”Bachelor to Master”and “Vocational to Master”offered by CDCAS. In particular, SIS has also played a pioneering role in the pass rate of TEM 8 and the admission rate of higher learning among the application-oriented universities in Sichuan Province.

　　外国语学院拥有一直实力雄厚的师资队伍。现有教授4人，副教授 18 人。两位教师被聘为国内高校兼职硕导。1人获四川省十佳魅力教师荣誉，5人次获得学校及联盟教学名师称号，8人次获得学校十佳教师称号。12人次获全国高等院校英语教师教学基本功大赛国家级一等奖及全国高校外语课程思政大赛特等奖。

　　SIS has had a competitive force of teaching faculty. They include 4 professors, 18 associate professors, 2 teachers hired as part-time master's supervisors in domestic universities, 1 teacher with the honor of the Top Ten Charming Teachers in Sichuan Province, 5 teachers with the title of Famous Teachers of CDCAS and 8 teachers with the title of Top Ten Outstanding Teachers of CDCAS. Additionally, our teachers have, for 12 people-times, won the First Prize of the National College English Teacher Basic Teaching Skills Competition and the Grand Prize of the National College Foreign Language Curriculum Ideological and Political competition.
